The Hike
Another afternoon at the Tourne! The parking lot was completely empty, which made sense because it was 90 degrees out with hazy skies, not the finest of conditions. Thankfully, there was a slight breeze up top and the wineberries were abundant (too hot to eat, though). I passed some familiar folks that I was passing last time, and I had quite the mental block - I just did not want to be exercising, but I knew it was good for me!
The lower half was buggier than usual and I noticed some dark storm clouds rolling in once I was up top for the second time - this would be a two lap day! I crossed paths with one mountain biker who was heading up, and soon enough I was soaked in my own sweat back at my car! Even on this nasty day, I'm grateful the Tourne is so close to my mom's house and I am able to visit so frequently.
- Park at parking area on the Old Denville Side of McCaffrey Lane.
- Start hike on Yellow Dot trail from parking lot.
- At terminus, turn left onto Yellow trail to hike the loop.
- After two loops, return to car via Yellow Dot trail.
