The Hike
Back at the summertime "training grounds"! It was good to be outside and moving after a couple days of gluttony with Christmas! The parking lot was reasonably busy, but I was mentally prepared for that. My first lap up required some power hiking to get ahead of a large family, but I had to slow down once near the top due to some leftover snow/ice. There was supposed to be more snow coming overnight, so I was glad to be getting my hike in now!
Temperatures were in the upper 20s, so my legs were a little chilly in just sweatpants, but overall all was good! I LOVED that there were no bugs. I realized once on my third climb that basically every human dissipated and it was just me and a few other crazies still hiking - it was lovely!
I ended my hike while listening to the Death Becomes Her musical soundtrack, and I wish I hiked just a LITTLE faster, becuase the soundtrack ended on the final push back to the car! I was so close to timing it perfectly!
Step-by-Step
- Park on Denville Side of the Tourne.
- Start hike on Yellow-Dot Trail.
- At terminus, turn left onto Yellow Trail.
- Loop the Yellow Trail as many times as needed.
- When done, turn left onto Yellow-Dot Trail and return to car.
